I do feel that they are getting better and more refined. I missed the tour this year with Apocolypitica - planned on catching the Minneapolis show. I'm with you for most of the list, yet I have to say that the Super Mario Bros. film ist not bat - actually it is quite good. The (classic) games offer about as much story as Tetris and the screenwriters turned it not only into something watchable but also made the Mario universe work.
