The series originally began on Narou before becoming a print novel with over 1 million copies sold. J-Novel Club is releasing the English version of the light novel.

The original author Firehead commented on the announcement: “The story is being turned into animation! It sounds so nice. I had hoped it would happen one day, but thought it would be in a distant world. But now, it’s not just a fantasy in my brain that I can’t show to anyone. Rufus and his friends will move, speak in animation and it can be shared with everyone in the real-world! I’m looking forward to that moment. And it is also thanks to all of you who have patiently supported us so that we have been able to come this far. Thank you so much!

In addition to the announcement, NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan revealed new behind-the-scenes information about the recently announced anime adaptation of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer, and Reincarnated as a Sword season 2.
