In its first week on the shelves in the Western part of the globe (USA and other countries in this hemisphere), Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII has reported sales of more than 1.2 million copies, most of which being sold to Playstation 3 gamers (according to VGChartz.com).
That’s an impressive one-week total, bringing worldwide sales of the game up over the 3 million mark, having already conquered Japan when it was released there previously.
It would appear that those who were banking on FF XIII to re-vitalize the gaming industry in Japan and abroad may have made a correct assumption, as the game is clearly on its way to being a full-on smash hit.
