NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan is excited to announce the third official PV trailer for From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman featuring the opening theme song “HEROES” by Takanori Nishikawa. The anime will stream exclusively on Prime Video worldwide beginning April 6, 2025.
Furthermore, two additional character visuals were revealed for Mewi Freya and Arisa Nakata. Mewi Freya will be played by Arisa Nakada, while Spur will be voiced by Ryota Osaka.
Takanori Nishikawa shared a comment with fans:
Hey everyone, Takanori Nishikawa here!
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing the opening theme song for the upcoming TV anime, From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman! Over the years, I’ve been building my career, and it’s amazing to see how my music has influenced and inspired others to start their own journeys. For this project, I’m teaming up with Oki, the guitarist from Novelbright.
Oki once stood at the Inazuma Rock Festival, dreaming of becoming a professional musician. Now, we share the stage together, and I am excited to collaborate with him on this song. His energy and style felt like the perfect match for the theme of this anime, so I asked him to join in this collaboration.
This project has been incredibly exciting for me, and I truly hope this song resonates with all of you. I want it to capture the spirit of the anime and make you even more excited to watch.
Thank you for your support of “HEROES,” the opening theme song, and From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, premiering this April!
