The song never saw the spotlight, but it spread by word of mouth on the internet. It got over 270,000 hits on lyric sites and over 15 million plays on movie sites.
She always played the song with just a piano at her concerts, but this single will be presented with a string arrangement. Details on the coupled song will be announced at a later date.
Oku commented, “I’m very happy that this song that has supported me in the shadows ever since I was playing street performances before my debut will become a single. I consider it to be the root of all of my breakup songs. I hope this song that I wrote about the sadness and transience of love reaches the hearts of many listeners.”
Oku will go on a 39-location 10th anniversary concert tour, titled <10th Anniversary Concert Tour 2015>, starting in Osaka on July 11. She will hold an commemorative acoustic concert at Osaka-shi Chuokokaido with a string quartet on July 11. Starting on July 18, she will perform solo acoustic sets.
She will also hold a concert with a band and string quartet at Tokyo Showa Women’s University Hitomi Memorial Hall on December 23. Her ability to play simple acoustic shows as well as elaborate orchestrated concerts is what makes her appealing. Please try to catch both kinds of performances.
