Congratulations, Japan. As this article describes, “apparently” Japan’s waters are home to 33,629 different kinds of sea creatures living beneath the surface.
This was a particularly fun fact from the article: Japan’s bodies of water make up about 1 percent of the world’s oceans. However, 15 percent of all species of sea life call the Japanese oceans home. That’s intense!
Sounds like Japan’s oceans make up a pretty big habitat for all kinds of random sea creatures, doesn’t it??
