A popular high school gamble manga, “Kakegurui” is getting live action TV drama adaption in January 2018!
“Kakegurui” is originally a manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker. The story begins when a main character, Yumeko Jamabi transfers to Hyakkaou Private Academy, where their students’ rank is determined by the gamble. Winners live like a king while the losers are put through the wringer. This series became even more popular this past year with their anime adaption directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and animation by MAPPA.
The drama series will air on MBS and TBS in early January 2018. It will be directed by Hanabusa Tsutomu whose famous work includes Heroine Shikkaku and Asahinagu.
