Apparently movie executives still haven’t learned the lesson that fighting video games/stories usually don’t make good movies….although I love the Street Fighter movie from 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia, it isn’t very good, and has little to do with the video game series other than the characters.
Well, someone’s apparently green-lit a live-action movie adaptation of the King of Fighters game series…check out this behind the scenes video:
I’m no expert on King of Fighters, but this doesn’t look like it’s going to break the video game movie curse. Judging by the comments on the YouTube page and other sites I’ve read, people are already taking issue with some of the characters and how they are depicted in this trailer…so I’ll be surprised if this movie is treated any better by the critics and fans than Street Fighter, Dragonball: Evolution and the other bad video game movies that have been so infamous in the last few years…..
