Kinect, Microsoft’s Xbox accessory (or standalone console) launched last week in Japan, and reports are circulating that the item hasn’t moved very many units since being released.
The numbers are low, around only 26,000 units, most of which, according to 1UP, were purchased by people who already own Xbox 360 consoles.
This probably isn’t the best news for Microsoft, who were probably hoping for mammoth sales figures to rival Nintendo’s dominance in Japan.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see if sales pick up, or if Kinect is destined to be a dud in the Japanese market.
