“We Will Carry On Rinpa” gallery will be held on May 20th until 29th at Gallery AL in Daikanyama, Tokyo.
At this gallery, you will be able to enjoy the collaboration of Japanese traditional art style, Rinpa which has over 400 year’s history, and manga/anime characters. The theme is “What Would It Be Like to Draw Manga and Anime in a Rinpa Style?” and the art is drawn by artists at Toyowa-do.
From classic Osamu Tezuka’s work such as “Astro Boy” and “Phoenix” to trendy characters such as Rilakkuma and Hatsune Miku, all the Japan’s popular characters exist in the Rinpa art. It is a unique gallery where you can see the collaboration of Japanese traditional art and modern pop culture.
