VK Blanka held his first Latin American tour!
This was his second overseas tour, following the “North American Tour” in February 2024. Prior to his Latin American Tour, he performed at “Anime Friends Sao Paulo 2024,” the largest anime convention in South America, held in Brazil. VK Blanka had the honor of headlining on the main stage on July 20, performing 11 songs, including “Black Catcher” from the global hit TV anime series “Black Clover,” for a crowd of over 10,000 people.
The Latin American Tour followed with shows in Chile and Mexico, which were welcomed by enthusiastic fans who had long waited for his live performance. VK Blanka skillfully manipulated the DJ gear, guitar, and keyboard for the live shows, and produced a new setlist tailored to audiences overseas.
VK Blanka’s call of “Vamos!” got the audience fired up as he took the stage to the intro to “Soten No Vampire.” The audience called out “VK” as the song ended and continued cheering loudly as he launched into “Shekebon!” From the start of the show, the energetic stage performance continued unabated with the third song, “Black Rover,” which was greeted with excited shouts as the intro played. “Never Run,” released this year in May, was performed for the first time at an overseas live concert, but the audience sang along loudly, creating a fevered pitch of enthusiasm. The live performances were a reminder that VK’s music, and not only anime theme songs, penetrated the audiences even though it was his first time visiting those countries. Smartphone screens simultaneously illuminated to accompany “Heal Me,” enhancing the sense of unity in the venue. The performance of “Lucky Ending,” from the TV anime “Fruits Basket,” and “WALK,” from the animated movie “Flavors of Youth,” mesmerized the crowd on the keyboard.
After thanking the audience for coming and promising to return, VK moved on to the final segment. The cool grooves of “Snake” had the crowd dancing, and “Ca Va?” and “Black Catcher” brought the venue’s voltage to the next level. For encore, he performed “Stray Cat” and “Black Catcher” for a second time from among the songs requested by the audience. Despite the Japanese lyrics, the audience’s thunderous chorus showed the excitement and enthusiasm of everyone gathered there.
“Knightclub,” VK’s album in three years, will be released on September 4th.
“VK Blanka Hall Tour 2024 – Knightclub –,” a six-show hall tour in Japan, is scheduled to kick off on September 27th.
