“Wake Up, Girls！ Festa. 2016 SUPER LIVE” at Makuhari Messe revealed giant news for WUG fans!
Sendai’s local idol anime series, “Wake Up, Girl! (WUG)” second season was announced for next year along with its new key visual image. If you have seen WUG, you might notice that the character design has been updated. On the key visual, you can see the main characters including Mayu Shimada drawn in a new style.
This second season will welcome a new director and character designer. A new director will be Shin Itagaki who is well known for Teekyu and a new character designer is Myuu Sugawara. Studio Millepensee which produced WUG’s two recent movies: “Wake Up, Girls! Seishun no Kage” and “Wake Up, Girls! Beyond the Bottom” will also be in charge of the new season.
In addition, they added that they will have new characters in this anime and will hold “Wake Up, Girls！AUDITION” to look for the new casts from the entries. Wake Up, Girls! original members are also from the WUG audition.
